| This two-day seminar
was held in flower city, Bandung on August
26th- 27th, 2005. The seminar was intended
to improve leadership skill of German alumni.
After having this seminar, the participants
can put the knowledge into practice so that
it can help them improve their performance
in the current professional assignment and
also in their daily lives where leadership
roles take part. This seminar was attended
by around 30 participants came from several
cities in Java such as Jakarta, Bandung, Malang,
and Surabaya.
The seminar was opened by Mr. Rey Nataranja
as the programme officer from International
Weiterbildung und Entwicklung gGmbH (Inwent)
and Ari Wardani as the chairman from CDAAI.
There were two speakers in this seminar;
Dr. Budi W. Soetjipto, President Director
of Lembaga Manajemen Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas
Indonesia (LM FEUI) and Mr. Anh Dung Do,
MBA, President Director of PT. Hadi Kusuma
Raya. Mr. Budi W. Soetjipto presented the
main topic about Dynamic Leadership. Started
with definition of leadership, he continued
with the explanation about the difference
between Leadership and Management role,
and ended the first day with details on
approaches used in leadership and influence
applied in that area.
On the second day, Mr. Anh Dung Do gave
an explanation about the concept of “In-groups
and Out-groups”, “In-Role Behavior
and Extra-Role Behavior”, and he finished
his presentation in this last day of the
seminar by providing the results of a practical
research about “tactics and responses”
applied to a certain Indonesian company.
Participants also had the chance to taste
the beautiful scenery of Bandung at night
in an informal dinner that was held at Kampung
Daun restaurant in Lembang, Bandung. They
also enjoyed the taste of Sundanese food
that was served at that restaurant. At the
end of the day, the participants came home
to their original cities loaded with new
knowledge about leadership skill, new relationship
with friends they just knew during the seminar,
reunion with old friends they have been
separated for a long time, and last but
not least, unforgettable experience from
visiting the beautiful town where this seminar
took place; Bandung.
